The Office of the Chief Scientist presents
The Australian Science Policy Fellowship Program
The Australian Science Policy Fellowship Program 2022/23 is an initiative that aims to grow the diversity of expertise in the APS workforce. It provides a pathway for early-to-mid career scientists to become skilled policy practitioners so that they can be conduits for bringing scientific expertise into government functions.
Fellows are employed as APS 6 policy officers by participating Australian Government host departments for 12 months. The Fellows bring a highly valued skillset, including data and analytical skills, and fresh perspectives on policy work.
To be eligible for the Program, you must be an Australian citizen, hold a STEM PhD, be no more than 15 years post PhD completion, and be prepared to relocate to Canberra for the duration of the 12 month Program.
